Image to OBJ
OBJ is the most widely readable mesh format, so a relief in OBJ opens in almost any 3D package, from Blender and ZBrush to older CAD software, ready for sculpting further.
How to use the image to obj
- 1Add a pictureDrop a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG. A sample image is preloaded so you can see the result straight away.
- 2Tune depth and detailSlide depth for how far shapes rise, and detail for how fine the mesh is. The 3D preview updates live.
- 3Export OBJ or STL or GLBSTL comes out watertight and 100 mm wide, ready for your slicer.
Tips for better results
- Bring the OBJ into ZBrush or Blender's sculpt mode to refine the relief by hand.
- Turn detail down if your software struggles with dense meshes.
Taking the OBJ further
- In ZBrush or Blender's sculpt mode, the relief makes a ready-made base for adding hand-sculpted detail.
- The OBJ is a single closed mesh, which keeps boolean operations in CAD tools simple.
- OBJ is text, so large reliefs make large files. Zip them before emailing.
- Need colours? Use image to GLB instead; OBJ materials don't carry the texture in this export.
Questions
- Do I need to sign up to try it?
- No. The preview runs in your browser without an account. You only need a plan to download the result.
- Is my file private?
- Yes. Processing happens on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you save a result to your account.
