Image to relief
Bas-relief sculpture raises an image just slightly from its background, the way coins and medals do. This tool does it from any picture, and the depth slider lets you choose between a subtle emboss and a deep carving.
How to use the image to relief
- 1Add a pictureDrop a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG. A sample image is preloaded so you can see the result straight away.
- 2Tune depth and detailSlide depth for how far shapes rise, and detail for how fine the mesh is. The 3D preview updates live.
- 3Export GLB or STL or OBJSTL comes out watertight and 100 mm wide, ready for your slicer.
Tips for better results
- Shallow depth (0.04–0.06) gives a coin-like look.
- Use the GLB with its texture for a coloured render.
Relief styles explained
- Bas-relief: shallow depth, as on coins, medals and building friezes. Start around 0.04–0.06.
- Alto-relief: deep carving where shapes stand well proud. Try 0.15 or more.
- Sunken relief: shapes cut into the surface. Use the stamp maker, which inverts heights.
- CNC users can export STL or OBJ and generate toolpaths in software such as Fusion, Vectric or Carveco.
