Grey Boulder (Photogrammetry) 3D model
A real boulder from the Czech countryside, rebuilt from 164 photographs. Every crack and lichen patch is genuine, which is something procedural rocks rarely manage. Rotate it a few ways and it can stand in for a whole set of rocks.
What you can do with it
- Realistic terrain dressing in games and films
- Reference for sculpting or texturing your own rocks
- A teaching example of what photogrammetry produces
Performance: is 34,969 triangles a lot?
Light. Comfortable for desktop and console games and most web viewers. Use a few at a time on mobile. It has fewer triangles than 25% of the 52 models in this library. Read more about polygon budgets, or how to reduce a model's polygon count.
Before you use it
The underside wasn't captured. Bury the bottom slightly in your terrain.
