Icon to SVG
Icons get shown at 16 px and 512 px in the same app, which is exactly where SVG shines. This preset traces small images at an upscaled working size for smooth curves.
Preset: high detail, background removed.
How to use the icon to svg
- 1Add an imageDrop a picture. It's traced in your browser, so nothing leaves your device.
- 2Set the colour countThis preset starts at 4 colours and removes a plain background. Fewer colours mean cleaner, simpler paths.
- 3Download the SVGOpen it in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, Cricut Design Space or your laser software.
Tips for better results
- Upload the largest icon size you have, even if you'll use it small.
- Set colours with CSS afterwards by editing the fill values.
Making traced icons production-ready
- Align the icon to a 24 × 24 or 32 × 32 grid in your editor for crisp rendering at small sizes.
- Replace hard-coded fill colours with currentColor so CSS can theme the icon.
- Run the SVG through an optimiser like SVGO to strip unneeded metadata.
- For icon sets, keep stroke widths consistent across every traced icon.
