PNG to SVG

PNGs with flat colours, such as logos, icons and illustrations, trace into tidy SVG paths that scale to any size. Transparent areas stay empty in the SVG.

Preset: medium detail.

How to use the png to svg

  1. 1Add an imageDrop a picture. It's traced in your browser, so nothing leaves your device.
  2. 2Set the colour countThis preset starts at 8 colours. Fewer colours mean cleaner, simpler paths.
  3. 3Download the SVGOpen it in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, Cricut Design Space or your laser software.

Tips for better results

  • Flat-colour PNGs trace far better than photos.
  • Use 4–8 colours for logos, more for illustrations.

When PNG to SVG is worth it

  • Logos, icons, badges and flat illustrations: the shapes are already clean, so the vector version is faithful.
  • Screenshots and photos: tracing gives an artistic, posterised look rather than a copy.
  • Pixel art: lower the detail, or the tracer will smooth the deliberate square pixels.
  • Once traced, colours are editable fill values, so recolouring the SVG takes seconds in any editor.
