Image to SVG for Cricut

Cutting machines need simple, closed shapes. This preset traces to two colours, removes the background and drops tiny specks, so the file cuts cleanly instead of tearing vinyl.

Preset: medium detail, background removed.

  • Weld overlapping shapes in Design Space after import.
  • Delete any leftover specks smaller than a few millimetres.

Cut-file habits that save vinyl

  • After import into Design Space, use Weld so overlapping pieces cut as one outline.
  • Attach layers that must keep their spacing, such as letters in a word.
  • Remove pieces under about 3 mm. They rarely weed cleanly.
  • For layered vinyl, trace with more colours, then hide and cut one colour layer at a time.
